Dear Valued Customers,

We would like to take a moment to explain the rationale behind our decision to implement a convenience fee for credit/debit card and eCheck transactions, effective May 1st, 2024.

  1. Cost-Effectiveness: Processing payments via credit/debit cards and eChecks incurs fees from financial institutions and payment processors. By introducing a modest convenience fee, we aim to offset these costs, ensuring that our operations remain sustainable while continuing to provide you with reliable water services.
  2. Equitable Solution: The introduction of a flat convenience fee of $2.50 for payments of $200 or less, and for each transaction of $200 or less on bills exceeding $200, is designed to be fair and equitable for all customers. This structure ensures that the cost burden is distributed proportionately across transactions, regardless of the payment amount.
  3. Transparency and Clarity: We believe in transparency in our pricing policies. By clearly communicating this change, we aim to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the fees associated with different payment methods. Our goal is to empower you to make informed decisions regarding your payment preferences.
  4. Enhanced Service Delivery: By implementing this change, we can redirect resources towards improving our core services and enhancing the overall customer experience. Your satisfaction and convenience remain our top priorities, and we are committed to continually refining our processes to better serve you.
  5. How do I Avoid these Fees?: If you physically mail a check, cash or sign up with TM for automatic ACH transactions from your checking or savings account you will avoid paying these convenience fees. If you wish to sign up for autopay using ACH transactions from your checking or savings account, just attach a voided check to the enclosed ACH form, sign, date and return the form with your monthly payment and we will get you set up for this free service for the following billing cycle.
